OR

BACKGROUND

One Reality (OR) is a non-profit organization founded in 2019 by Buh Mi Eric in Limbe, Cameroon. OR was born out of a desire to uplift vulnerable communities through holistic development programs.

The southwest region of Cameroon suffers from high rates of poverty, lack of education access, food insecurity, unemployment, and poor health indicators. These challenges disproportionately impact disadvantaged groups including women, youth, children, refugees and rural populations.

Having witnessed these harsh realities firsthand in local communities, OR was established with the mission to restore hope and build resilience among marginalized groups. He assembled a team of experienced development professionals to design responsive, sustainable initiatives.

OR is headquartered in Limbe, with a branch office in Bamenda. Both locations were selected based on needs assessments, with the goal of serving vulnerable groups impacted by the socio-economic crisis in the Anglophone regions.

The organization implements vocational training, entrepreneurship building, food security, health, education, and child protection programs. These aim to uplift lives by providing critical skills, knowledge, services and resources.

Over the past four years, OR has trained hundreds of women and youth, supported fledgling businesses, increased education access, conducted health campaigns, set up ecological farms, and provided child services. Their localized, community-based model catalyzes grassroots development.

As OR looks to the future, they aim to expand their reach to assist more vulnerable Cameroonians in building self-reliance and achieving sustainable livelihoods. Partnerships will enable the replication of successful programs. Ultimately, OR seeks to empower communities to take ownership over their own transformation.
